On the Island, there are psychedelic places and scents, sublime atmospheres that only heat can evoke—the warmth of the wind, the subtle aroma of citrus fruits, yuzu lemonades, day and night, on the horizon. That same year, I returned after a long time to both Sicily and Japan. It was the summer of ’23. Lemonades at the old port, children running through the sunlit streets of the kasbah, the warm breeze on the beaches, a sip of amaro every evening, dear friends from distant worlds. I wandered the radiant streets of Mazara del Vallo, my hometown, watching the sun hit my skin, my joy rediscovering childhood. Everything was there—my land, my love, my friends, my most intimate bonds.

Isola is a state of mind, a human condition—it’s the awareness that water surrounds us, that the pure element isolates, yet protects us. That same summer, I walked through Japanese streets, seeking refuge in the shadows of tranquil gardens, listening to time, watching the blazing August sun. In Isola, I told the story of my love for life, of the contrast and union between two different cultures. Isola is a citrusy fragrance, one that expresses through Lemon and Yuzu two places that are essential to my life and memory.

Isola is a sparkling scent, like a can of Yuzu soda sipped on a summer day in Tokyo. Isola is like a fresh lemonade enjoyed under the Sicilian sun, gazing at the sea on the horizon, rich in light and reflection, our eyes smiling, kissed by sunlight and the salty sea air. Isola is my turn toward the light. Fresh notes and the absence of darkness—this is Meo’s great olfactory revolution in this perfume, his greatest challenge: to tell the story of the happiness of an unforgettable summer through a refreshing Yuzu lemonade.
I had one wish—to make this feeling eternal.
