Penhaligon’s Empressa EDT is a chypre eau de toilette for women. Inspired by the commercial ships that arrived in London, the world’s warehouse at the end of the 19th century, Penhaligon’s thus recreated that opulence in 3 fragrances. The luxury, the spirit and the decadence of that period are all in a simple bottle of perfume. Fragrant, fruity and feminine fragrance, it is inspired by the fragrances of which silk and fine fabrics were impregnated and wrapped in Patchouli leaves. These were then worn by the most powerful women in London, who loved that scent so much. The very oil of Patchouli, very precious and sought after, became a symbol of luxury and wealth. To remember also this richness and the importance of the ingredients, the packaging is a casket inspired by the mother of pearl.
