Diptyque continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary, and goes on the road again with a collection inspired by a legendary cultural itinerary, the Grand Tour.

The fifth stop on the journey is Byblos.

The founders of diptyque stayed there during a crossing of Lebanon. In the ancient souk of its thousand-year-old harbour, small cafés follow one another. Strong coffee is served here, the aroma of which mingles with the smell of the old wooden shelving of the shops. Not far away is the ancient Phoenician port, where rare spices and precious woods passed through. At the heart of the composition, an enveloping roasted coffee accord is enhanced by the liveliness of fresh cardamom and Atlas cedar wood. A succession of olfactory sensations and impressions that brings back the atmosphere of a fascinating city with its historical and artistic heritage.

Byblos by Diptyque is a candle proposed in a variegated terracotta vase whose designs recall the volutes of coffee smoke. The vase is handcrafted: the colours and pigment distribution can vary, making each piece absolutely unique.

Burn time is approximately 75 hours.

Format: height 10 cm; diameter 9 cm

Tip: the first time you light a candle, leave it to burn for 2-3 hours or until the entire surface is liquid. Burning it evenly makes the candle last as long as possible. You should also get into the habit of trimming the wick at the top when creating the ‘rings’ before lighting it to prevent excessive smoke.
