The process of creating this new perfume began a year and a half ago after meeting Alexis Dadier (perfumer Robertet) with whom we shared our desire to celebrate this wonderful ingredient: Iris Pallida butter. The development of the new formula required intense collaboration between the perfumer and Georges Maubert, creator of Marie Jeanne: thanks to long research, the result achieved was exceptional. Only a few brands have the capacity to use such a high concentration of these noble raw materials.

With the desire to go beyond the very dusty “classic accord” of Iris, usually associated with violet, we tried to push the different facets of Iris Pallida butter by associating them with a hazelnut accord.

We completely dusted off this iconic ingredient to offer a modern and unisex fragrance! Thanks to its high concentration of 28%, its evolution and persistence are fantastic, while remaining an intimate fragrance with which one feels good. A sensual, refined and minimalist fragrance.

Iris Pallida is the newest addition to the ‘Matière Première’ Eau de Parfum collection.
The perfume is a transcription of the natural smell of Iris rhizomes, a complex olfactory signature usually described as powdery, raw, dry woody, slightly fruity and cocoa-like.
It takes four years of ripening for the rhizomes to concentrate into irons (scented molecules derived from the Iris) and it takes about 1000 kg of dried rhizomes to make 2 kg of Iris butter.
It is one of the noblest ingredients available on the perfumer’s olfactory palette. Often associated with classical perfumery, it is of great elegance. To give it greater richness and complexity, we have used different extractions: Florentine Iris butter, Iris Pallida butter and Iris Germanica absolute.
